American Hepato Pancreato Billiary Association (AHPBA)

The AHPBA aims at raising the standards of care for patients with diseases affecting the liver pancreas and biliary system. The association has annual meetings, educational sessions and courses to increase your awareness of what is happening in our field of surgery. Inaugurated on November 12, 1994 in Chicago, Illinois , it has grown from a handful of surgeons interested in HPB surgery to a membership of over 500 today.

European Liver and Intestine Transplant Association (ELITA)
ELITA

The European Liver and Intestine Transplant Association (ELITA), previously known as the European Liver Transplant Association (ELTA), is a section of the European Society of Organ Transplantation (ESOT). Its membership represents the expertise on liver and intestinal transplantation in Europe .

ELTA was founded in 1993. On October 18, 2005, the name of the association ELTA changed to “European Liver and Intestine Transplant Association” (ELITA). ELITA provides a forum for those working in the field of liver and intestinal transplantation to exchange scientific information and views related primarily to providing the best service for patients in Europe requiring liver or intestinal transplantation. Also the relationship with national and European government agencies and with the organ exchange organisations is the business of the ELITA, making ELITA the official representative body of liver and intestinal transplantation in Europe

The International Association for the Study of the Liver (IASL) is a non-profit organization whose aim is to foster, in an international context, the development of knowledge pertaining to liver diseases, towards the prevention, recognition and treatment of liver and biliary tract diseases and to facilitate the training of experts in hepatology worldwide.

IASL is affiliated with five constituent Associations:

The Japanese Society of Hepatology (JSH)
JSH

The Japanese Society of Hepatology encourages research on hepatology and contributes to the development of this medical discipline by publishing research reports on hepatology and exchanging knowledge. In order to achieve its objectives, The Japanese Society of Hepatology:

National Cancer Institute (NCI)

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) is a component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), one of eight agencies that compose the Public Health Service (PHS) in the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). The NCI, established under the National Cancer Institute Act of 1937, is the Federal Government's principal agency for cancer research and training. The National Cancer Act of 1971 broadened the scope and responsibilities of the NCI and created the National Cancer Program. The National Cancer Institute coordinates this National Cancer Program, which conducts and supports research, training, health information dissemination, and other programs with respect to the cause, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of cancer, rehabilitation from cancer, and the continuing care of cancer patients and the families of cancer patients.
